Story behind the Album
Meghanihsvana is the Sanskrit term for roar of the clouds. ‘Meghdoot’, the epic poem by Kalidasa, has been one of the initial inspirations for the album story. These songs narrate the journey of the cloud to the supreme union, to non-duality.
This journey starts with Ramgiri, the song of solitude. The second song, Vertravati, sings about the divine love the cloud gets a glimpse of. Gandhavati is the song of the cloud, thunderously reverberating with love and gratitude as it has the first realization of the divine amidst this colourful world. Janhukanya is song of the dawn breaking from the dark night of ignorance to the light of awareness. The cloud’s journey culminates with Alka, the song of enlightenment, the shedding of any perceived division and awakening to the nature of the true Self.
